POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Before participating, participants should review the California Amateur Championships Policies & Procedures.
STRACKALINE YARDAGE BOOK:
The NCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a 20% discount. Click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play. Granite Bay Pro Shop also stocks the StrackaLine Booklet.
FORMAT:
- 156 players will play 18 holes each day on Monday & Tuesday, June 16 & 17.
- Following the second round of stroke play, the field will be cut to the low 32 players for match play (see starting times and pairings).
- This championship is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) counting event and an official USGA Exemption Event, which carries an exemption into the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship.
EXEMPTIONS AWARDED:
The Champion receives the following:
- Exempt into the current year U.S. Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club, August 11-17, 2025.
- 10-year exemption into the California Amateur Championship.
REGISTRATION:
All players are to check in with the NCGA/SCGA near the practice putting green to receive their player gift and to acknowledge that they are on the property at the championship. Registration will take place on the following days and times:
- Sunday, June 15: 1 - 3:30 p.m.
- Monday, June 16: 6 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. Granite Bay is a private facility and practice rounds are available on a space available basis. The CGA has reserved tee times that each participant can book through the CGA’s Practice Round Portal beginning on Friday, June 6 at 8:00 a.m. PST. Practice round signups must be made through the practice round portal only. (Please do not contact the Golf Shop to schedule a practice round).
- Practice Round Fee: $75.
- Golf Cart Fee: $25 paid to the golf shop on the day of the practice round.
- Cash and credit cards will be accepted in the Golf Shop.
- Practice Round availability:
- June 6 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- June 7 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
- June 8 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- June 15 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The CGA works with various facilities throughout the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures regarding practice rounds. The host facility will provide these opportunities at their sole discretion.
- Practice facilities are only available one hour ahead of the player’s practice round time. Early access is not permitted.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the CGA Code of Conduct.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at ncga.org & scga.org one week before the championship.
- Round 1 starting times: 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. & 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. utilizing a #1 and #10 tee start.
- Round 2 starting times: 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. & 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. utilizing a #1 and #10 tee start.
- Round of 32 (Wed.): 7:30 - 10 a.m.
- Round of 16 (Thurs.): 7:30 - 8:40 a.m.
- Quarterfinals (Fri.): 7:30 - 8 a.m.
- Semifinals (Fri.) 12:30 & 12:50 p.m.
- Championship Match (Sat.) (36 holes): 7:30 & 11:30 a.m.
- Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes before their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.
TEES & YARDAGE:
All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. each morning of the championship.
- Range balls will be provided with compliments of Granite Bay GC and the CGA.
- Driving range and practice facilities are not available any days or times outside the players practice round or starting time for the championship.
- Practice facilities available to competitors only on the of booked practice rounds only, and not before 12:00 p.m. on day booked.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- All championship participants will be provided lunch throughout the championship.
- June 16-17: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. In the Conservatory
- June 18: 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. In the Conservatory
- June 19-21: 12:00 -2:00 p.m. In Tilly’s Restaurant
- Caddies and spectators may make purchases from Cobble Café (6:30 a.m- end of play) or Tilly’s (8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.)
- Cash and credit cards are the only accepted payments for F&B purchases.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the CGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players.

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- All players, caddies and spectators must walk.
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on golf carts).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason before the start of an NCGA competition, a player must notify the NCGA Operations Department at (831) 625-4653.
- Failure to notify the NCGA will cause the player to be listed as a NO SHOW resulting in a ONE-YEAR SUSPENSION FROM ALL NCGA EVENTS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR FOLLOWING THE INFRACTION. A player who only contacts the course and NOT the NCGA will be subject to suspension.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancellation before the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancellation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours before the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancellation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
